Ohio Update« Thread Started on Dec 22, 2004, 3:12pm »--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ohio UpdateIn addition to our support of the Ohio recount efforts, Chairman McAuliffe has announced the Democratic National Committee and the DNC Voting Rights Institute will be conducting a major investigative study into what happened in Ohio. The purpose of this investigation is not to contest the results of the election in any way. Rather, the purpose of this effort is to fulfill our Party's commitment to ensuring that every eligible voter can vote and that every vote is counted. This investigation will address the legitimate questions and concerns that have been raised in Ohio and will develop factual information that will be critically important in crafting further necessary election reforms.In addition to crafting our own set of suggested reforms, the DNC will share the data collected and our recommended reforms with third party Election Reform groups and members of Congress, state legislatures and Governors so we can reform the system from the bottom up.
