Today the Office of the Coordinator for Reconstruction and Stabilization (S/CRS) launched CivilianResponseCorps.gov. The new site provides information on the Civilian Response Corps, a group of civilian employees from across the U.S. government who are specially trained and equipped to provide conflict prevention and stabilization assistance to countries in crisis or emerging from conflict. The Corps is providing expeditionary diplomacy at more than two dozen posts overseas, including national security priorities such as Afghanistan and Sudan.
CivilianResponseCorps.gov explains the purpose of the Corps, how it fits into our broader diplomatic efforts, the important missions its members undertake, and current opportunities to join.
The website also highlights the skills of Corps members from the nine partner agencies: the U.S. Department of State, Department of Justice, Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Health and Human Services, Department of Transportation, Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
