Hello:
We would like to inform you of an important change regarding the foreign language scoring/point system for the Foreign Service Officer Selection Process.
Beginning with the June 2012 FSOT, generalist candidates will receive .17 bonus points for all foreign languages listed (http://careers.state.gov/media/pdfs/lan ... oints-2012) providing they pass the telephone language test at a 3 speaking level after passing the Oral Assessment. Candidates testing in these eight languages - Arabic; Chinese (Mandarin); Hindi, Persian (Dari), Persian (Farsi), Pashto, Urdu, and Korean – are eligible for higher bonus points and need only a 2 speaking level to obtain a .17.
