Students from Global Young Leaders Conference attend State Department Briefing

On July 28, 2010, 350 U.S. and international high school students attending the Global Young Leaders Conference will visit the State Department to attend a briefing by Alec Ross, Senior Adviser on Innovation in the Office of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

The Global Young Leaders Conference is a leadership development program that brings together young people from around the world to build leadership skills in the global context representing 42 countries, primarily from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Trinidad & Tobago, Bahrain, Panama, and Germany. Students have the opportunity to learn from and exchange ideas with national leaders in Washington, D.C. and New York City.

This event is open to the press and will be held in the Loy Henderson Conference Room of the U.S. Department of State.

Morning pre-set time for cameras: 9:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
Final morning access for all press: 10:45 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or
(3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license, passport). Press should allow adequate time to process through security.
