DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s Statement on Ed Markey’s Clear Victory in Tonight’s Debate
DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz released the following statement on Ed Markey’s clear victory in tonight’s debate in Massachusetts:

“Ed Markey was the clear winner of tonight’s debate, and he will be elected the next Senator from Massachusetts on June 25. Ed is a proven leader and will represent the values of Massachusetts voters in the Senate. He's going to fight for the commonsense measures to reduce gun violence that we need to keep our children safe and he will always stand up for women’s health in the Senate. Ed’s a fighter, and that’s what Massachusetts voters deserve in the U.S. Senate.

“Gabriel Gomez would join with Republicans in the Senate to push their agenda of gridlock and partisanship. He would be one more vote against an assault weapons ban. One more vote against protecting a women's right to choose. Gomez would support a Supreme Court justice who will overturn Roe v. Wade and laws that make women wait for vital health care services.
