General Officer Announcements

Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the President has made the following nominations:

Army Lt. Gen. John D. Johnson, for reappointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as director, Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization, Arlington, Va. Johnson is currently serving as commanding general, Eighth U.S. Army/chief of staff, United Nations Command/Combined Forces Command/U.S. Forces Korea, Korea.

Army Maj. Gen. Thomas W. Spoehr for appointment to the rank of lieutenant general and for assignment as director of the office of business transformation, Office of the Under Secretary of the Army, Washington, D.C. Spoehr is currently serving as director, program analysis and evaluation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-8, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
