General Officer Assignments

The chief of staff, Army, announced the following assignments:

Maj. Gen. Jeffrey L. Bailey, deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C., to commanding general, First Army Division East, Fort George G. Meade, Md.

Maj. Gen. Joseph P. DiSalvo, chief of staff, U.S. Southern Command, Doral, Fla., to commanding general, U.S. Army South, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas.

Maj. Gen. Frederick S. Rudesheim, commanding general, U.S. Army South, Joint Base San Antonio, Texas, to vice director, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Jonathan A. Maddux, who has been selected for the rank of major general, deputy commanding general, support, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to assistant military deputy to the assistant secretary of the Army (acquisition, logistics and technology), Washington, D.C.

Brig. Gen. Stephen M. Twitty, who has been selected for the rank of major general, to deputy chief of staff, G-3/5/7, U.S. Army Forces Command, Fort Bragg, N.C. He most recently served as deputy chief of staff, communications, Headquarters, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan. He was previously announced for senior commander-Fort Hood, Fort Hood, Texas.

Brig. Gen. Michael E. Williamson, who has been selected for the rank of major general, assistant military deputy to the assistant secretary of the Army (acquisition, logistics and technology), Washington, D.C., to deputy commanding general, support, Combined Security Transition Command-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.

Brig. Gen. Christopher P. Hughes, deputy commanding general (maneuver), 3rd Infantry Division/deputy commander for maneuver, Regional Command South, International Security Assistance Force, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to director, Officer Personnel Management Directorate, U.S. Army Human Resources Command, Fort Knox, Ky.

Brig. Gen. William J. Scott, chief, C/J-6, International Security Assistance Force, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan, to director of architecture, operations, networks and space, Office of the Chief Information Officer/G-6, U.S. Army, Washington, D.C.
