U.S. stocks start the week up on earnings to 14,770
NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks opened higher on Monday, with Wall Street looking for another positive month, as corporate earnings and outlooks largely surprised to the upside. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 53.83 points to 14,770. The S&P 500 index climbed 5.54 points to 1,587.78. The Nasdaq Composite added 12.20 points to 3,291.45.
