On March 27, 2013, U.S. Customs and Border Protection published an Interim Final Rule allowing for the automation of Forms I-94 for most individuals who arrive to the United States by air or by sea. Although some travelers, such as refugees or asylees, may still receive paper I-94 at airports or seaports, most other individuals will need to printout their Forms I-94 from a CBP website after their arrival.
