There's a Day to Demand Action event this Thursday in Sherma

Friend --

Late last week, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced a bill that would put in place universal background checks, increase federal gun trafficking laws, and make our schools safer.

The Senate could vote on this in just a few weeks when they return from congressional recess.

Right now is exactly the moment that our opponents and the powerful gun lobby are hoping to derail the momentum we've built behind this legislation. We're not going to let it happen.

That's why this Thursday, March 28th, Organizing for Action is working in conjunction with Mayors Against Illegal Guns and other groups to hold a National Day to Demand Action to prevent gun violence -- and there's an event in Sherman Oaks. Say you'll be there:

What: National Day to Demand Action event in Sherman Oaks

Where: 15233 Ventura Blvd.
Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

When: Thursday, March 28th
6:00 pm

Here's the bottom line: The reforms moving forward in the Senate will make it harder for criminals and dangerous people to buy guns -- and easier for police and prosecutors to stop them.

These are measures -- like requiring every gun buyer to pass a criminal background check, making sure our schools are safe, and strengthening federal gun trafficking laws -- that are supported by the vast majority of Americans, and even the majority of NRA members.

In fact, 92% of Americans support universal background checks. Now, it's time for Congress to act.

With events like the one in Sherman Oaks this Thursday, we're going to be sending the message that we expect our lawmakers to act quickly and decisively.

Will you be there to help get it done?

Your voice has carried this fight forward and it matters now more than ever. Thank you.
