Senate OKs government funding through September
WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The Senate on Wednesday approved a bill to keep the federal government funded through September, acting to head off a partial shutdown that looms next week. The measure, which now goes to the House for a separate vote, contains about $984 billion in funds and was approved with 73 yes votes and 26 no votes. The bill keeps in place $85 billion in automatic cuts that began earlier this month under the sequester.
