WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- President Barack Obama and congressional leaders will meet Friday at the White House to discuss the across-the-board spending cuts known as the sequester, reports said Wednesday. The cuts are due to go into effect on Friday absent a replacement. If Congress does not agree on a replacement bill, $85 billion in cuts begin Friday. Obama will meet with House Speaker John Boehner, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, reports said.
