NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stocks opened little changed, trading near five-year highs, on Tuesday amid corporate results that had Johnson & Johnson lowering 2013 guidance and DuPont Co. reporting profit that beat expectations. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.69 point at 13,651.39. The S&P 500 index fell nearly 1 point to 1,485.16. The Nasdaq Composite rose nearly 2 points to 3,136.37. "Fourth-quarter earnings season is off to a decent start," said Fred Dickson, chief investment strategist at Davidson Companies in an emailed note. Of the 69 S&P 500 companies that had reported fourth-quarter results through Friday 62% delivered a positive earnings surprise, he noted.
