NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures held small gains on Monday after data showed that the Empire State manufacturing index remained in negative territory for the fifth month in a row. Investors are shrugging off economic data to focus instead on budget negotiations in Washington which appeared to make some progress over the weekend. Futures on the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 33 points to 13,183 and those on the S&P 500 index gained 6.70 points to 1,415.9. Futures on the Nasdaq 100 climbed 10.50 points to 2,633.7.
