WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) -- The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage average ticked higher to 3.32% in the week ending Nov. 29 from 3.31% in the prior week, Freddie Mac said Thursday in its weekly report. The rate was 4.00% a year earlier, according to Freddie, a buyer of residential mortgages. "Mortgage rates were virtually unchanged this week amid growing concerns around the fiscal cliff," said Frank Nothaft, chief economist. Meanwhile, the 15-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 2.64% in the latest week from 2.63% in the prior week. The average rate on the 5-year Treasury-indexed hybrid adjustable-rate mortgage declined to 2.72% from 2.74%. The 1-year Treasury-indexed ARM remained at 2.56%.
