CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- Democrats in the House of Representatives on Thursday unanimously re-elected Nancy Pelosi as leader. The Californian was nominated by Rep. Mike Thompson, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, which said he described her as someone who "knows politics and policy better than anyone and raises more money than anyone." Pelosi was the first female Speaker of the House, a post she held for four years before Democrats lost their majority after the 2010 election. The party picked up eight seats in 2012 and will go into the next Congress holding a total of 201 out of 435.
