SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission filed a civil complaint in federal district court on Monday, charging Ireland-based betting sites Intrade The Prediction Market Ltd. and Trade Exchange Network Ltd. with offering commodity option contracts to U.S. customers for trading. The companies allegedly solicited, accepted, and confirmed the execution of orders from U.S. customers which violated the CFTC's ban on off-exchange options trading. Intrade and TEN are also charged with making false statements in documents filed with the CFTC, the commission said in a statement.
