SYDNEY (MarketWatch) -- Australian stocks edged higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index up 0.1% at 4,426.70. The health-care sector outperformed by a wide margin after CSL Ltd. jumped 6%. The blood-products firm lifted its fiscal-year guidance to a 20% increase in profit from a prior forecast of a 12% rise, in part due to cancer-vaccine royalties. Also gaining ground were telecom firms and consumer staples companies, with Telstra Corp. up 0.4% and Westfarmers Ltd. up 0.3%.
