NEW YORK (MarketWatch) - U.S. stock futures held near flat Tuesday after the Commerce Department reported orders for durable goods held unchanged in October. The data was better than anticipated, as economists had expected a decline. "I think we'll start to pay attention to economic data as soon as we stop paying attention to negotiations in Washington over the fiscal cliff," said Art Hogan, equity strategist at Lazard Capital Markets, of efforts to reach a deal to avoid automatic spending cuts and tax hikes set to begin in January. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were off 2 points to 12,934. Futures for the S&P 500 index held flat at 1,403.2. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 climbed 4 points to 2,649.75.
