CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- The U.S. is suing KBR, a Houston-based global construction company, and a Kuwaiti subcontractor for overcharging the government for trailers to house American troops fighting in Iraq, the Associated Press reports. The complaint alleges that KBR and First Kuwaiti Trading Co. were contracted to install 2,250 trailers at a cost of $80 million. But, the wire service noted, First Kuwaiti later added an extra $49 million, which KBR passed on to the government. The suit also contends one of the overcharges was $23,000 a month for a crane that should have cost just $8,000.
