ConocoPhillips adjusted profit up

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- ConocoPhillips said Thursday adjusted profit rose to $1.44 a share from $1.40 a share. Analysts expected ConocoPhillips to earn $1.19 a share, according to a survey by FactSet. The three-month period marked its first full quarter after spinning off its refining and marketing business, Phillips 66 . Production for the fourth quarter is expected to increase from the third quarter of 2012 as ConocoPhillips completes turnaround activity and ramps up efforts in the Eagle Ford of Texas and oil sands.
