U.S. stock-index futures retain gains after data

NEW YORK (MarketWatch) -- U.S. stock futures maintained sizeable gains Thursday after U.S. economic reports came in slightly better than expected, with the government reporting jobless claims fell to 369,000 last week, and orders for durable goods rose 9.9% in September. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average were up 54 points, or 0.4%, at 13,075. Futures for the S&P 500 index advanced 7.2 points, or 0.5%, to 1,412.5. Those for the Nasdaq 100 climbed 15.75 points, or 0.6%, to 2,666.25.
