NRC SEEKS PUBLIC INPUT ON CONSIDERINGECONOMIC CONSEQUENCES; MEETING AUG. 29 IN ROCKVILLE, MD.Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff will meet with the public Aug. 29 in Rockville, Md., to discuss proposed options on modifying the agency’s approach to considering economic consequences from nuclear power plant accidents.The staff has provided a paper, available on the NRC website, to the agency’s fiveCommissioners laying out the NRC’s current approach to economic consequences and possible revisions. The meeting to discuss the paper will run from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the Commission MeetingRoom at NRC Headquarters, 11555 Rockville Pike in Rockville. The public will have the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments during the meeting.The meeting will include a teleconference.
