Flag Officer Assignments


The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Jonathan W. Greenert announced today the following assignments:
Capt. John D. Alexander, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as assistant commander for career management, PERS-4, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn. Alexander is currently serving as commanding officer, USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), Everett, Wash.
Capt. Bret C. Batchelder, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as director, operations division, office of budget, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Financial Management and Comptroller/director, Operations Division, Fiscal Management Division, N821, Office of Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. Batchelder is currently serving as director, Aviation Officer Career Management and Distribution, PERS-43, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.
Capt. Ronald A. Boxall, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy director, Surface Warfare Division, N96B, Office of Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C. Boxall previously served as executive assistant to the deputy chief of Naval operations for integration of capabilities and resources, N8, Office of Chief of Naval Operations, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Robert P. Burke, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy chief of staff, fleet capabilities, requirements, concepts, and experimentation, N5/N8/N9, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Burke is currently serving as director, Submarine/Nuclear Power Distribution Division, PERS-42, Navy Personnel Command, Millington, Tenn.
Capt. Andrew L. Lewis, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy director, force employment, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va. Lewis is currently serving as executive assistant to the director, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Bruce H. Lindsey, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy director for operations, J3, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C. Lindsey previously served as assistant chief of staff for force readiness, N40, Naval Air Forces, U.S. Pacific Fleet, San Diego, Calif.
Capt. Dee L. Mewbourne, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Naval Service Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Mewbourne is currently serving as commanding officer, USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), Norfolk, Va.
Capt. John P. Neagley, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, Calif. Neagley is currently serving as program manager, PMS-501, Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Patrick A. Piercey, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as deputy director for plans and policy, ECJ-5, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. Piercey is currently serving as executive assistant to the assistant chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, Joint Staff, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Markham K. Rich, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Navy Region Northwest, Silverdale, Wash. Rich previously served as chief of staff, Navy Region Southwest, San Diego, Calif.
Capt. Charles A. Richard, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Joint Functional Component Command for Global Strike, U.S. Strategic Command, Offutt Air Force Base, Neb. Richard previously served as chief of staff, U.S. Strategic Command, Special Activities Atlantic, Norfolk, Va.
Capt. Cynthia M. Thebaud, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as chief operating officer, N7, Naval Education and Training Command, Norfolk, Va. Thebaud is currently serving as special assistant to the chief of Naval operations for joint chiefs of staff matters, Washington, D.C.
Capt. Brad Williamson, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as chief of staff, Strike Forces, North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Lisbon, Portugal. Williamson is currently serving as executive assistant to the deputy commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Norfolk, Va.
Capt. Ricky L. Williamson, who has been selected for the rank of rear admiral (lower half), will be assigned as commander, Navy Region Midwest, Great Lakes, Ill. Williamson previously served as deputy director for plans and programs, Naval Installations Command, Washington, D.C.
