Bill Clinton: ‘Vast opposition conspiracy’ as ‘virulent’ as ever
Posted: 03:46 PM ET
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The “vast right-wing conspiracy” that attacked him during his presidency has been weakened, but continues to operate against President Barack Obama, former President Bill Clinton said Sunday.

On NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Clinton was asked about the term his wife Hillary Clinton, now Secretary of State, famously coined. “Is it still there?” asked host David Gregory.

“Oh, you bet. Sure it is. It’s not as strong as it was, because America’s changed demographically, but it’s as virulent as it was,” said the former president. “I mean, they’re saying things about him [Obama] — you know, it’s like when they accused me of murder and all that stuff they did,” Clinton said, in an apparent reference to conspiracy theories surrounding the suicide of White House deputy counsel Vince Foster.

Kansas Young Democrats - Planning for the future.

Friends,

During the Presidential election cycle we saw an outpour of young voters working for change and going to the polls. President Obama has voiced the importance of youth numerous times since he took office and even credits the youth with the success of his campaign. Needless to say young voters Nationwide are a powerful and motivated force. The youth in Kansas are no different. I was recently elected to be the new President of the Kansas Young Democrats.

As President I hope to increase the number of chartered chapters and the membership with in each chapter, build relations with local elected officials and other youth based organizations, and establish a monthly call to service where each month at least one chapter of the Kansas Young Democrats will hold a community service project, establish an online presence, and host a Young Democrats of America conference in partnership with Washington Days this coming February (which, as of this past week, we are currently in the bidding process for). These are just some of the ways we will be working to make a difference statewide and give back to the communities we live in.

The Young Democrats of America Conference partnership with Washington Days will bring about 200 active and motivated young democrats from around the Nation to Kansas, in addition to all the great democrats we have every year. This would be a mutual benefit to all involved. We have already set the wheels in motion on this, and things are looking good. I recently met with our Executive Director of the state party about this and he is more than willing to help bring this to Kansas.

The Kansas Young Democrats are often viewed as the youth arm of the party. We are the people who come out and canvass for campaigns and work diligently to coordinate the campaigns each election year. This is why I am writing you today. We need you. In order for the Kansas Young Democrats to be able to attend the national conferences, attend training sessions, have an up to date website, bring the National Conference to Kansas, and be able to organize statewide - we need your support. Our current fundraising goal is $15,000 in order to help pay off previous debts, fund the our portion of the conference and invest in building the Kansas Young Democrats. Would you be able to help us reach our goal by donating? The check you write today will have an immediate impact on the fiuture of the young Democrats in Kansas and the role we will play in helping to get fellow democrats elected in Kansas. If you can give $50, $100, $250, or $500 please do so today and help us to help to make Kansas a little bluer. Thank you for your support.

Checks can be made out to 'Kansas Young Democrats'

Friend --

In many ways, the fight for health insurance reform comes down to a battle over information. The more people know about how broken the system is and the President's plan to fix it, the more they want change. But there are an awful lot of lies to cut through, and a whole lot of truth to get out.

So today, we're proud to announce a powerful new way for you to help: Organizing for America's Health Reform Video Challenge.

This is your chance -- you ingenious, insightful, funny people out there -- to make a 30-second ad telling the story about why the status quo has got to go, or explaining how the Obama plan will ensure we get the secure, quality care we need without breaking the budget.

The top submissions will be voted on by the public and a panel of experts, with the winning ad aired on national television. This is your opportunity to add your voice and creativity to the debate, get some great exposure for your work, and make a huge difference.

No experience is needed -- if you have an idea, we want you to give it a shot. And if you know someone who is especially handy with a camera, please forward this note along right away. Just make sure you submit your ad by October 18th.

Your video could be as simple as you talking straight into the camera, as complex as a full-blown production with a script and special effects, or anything in between.

We're looking for serious videos: You can tell your personal story about how the broken health insurance system has affected you. You can illustrate the big picture about what's wrong now and how the President's plan will help with animations, charts, and facts.

We're looking for funny videos: You can parody those trying to scare us into inaction (between the lying pundits and the insurance company spin doctors, they've given us some good stuff to work with).

And we're looking for new ideas we never would have thought of but we know will blow us all away.

We know that compelling videos can touch people in a way that words alone simply cannot. The messages that regular people put together will make a bigger difference than any false smears or slick ads the other side can dream up. And who knows -- your creative, powerful, or touching video could help tip the balance in favor of health reform.

So go get started today!

I can't wait to see what you come up with,
