WASHINGTON (CNN) A top aide to President
Barack Obama said Sunday that the administrations thorough
review of the U.S. militarys continued involvement in Afghanistan
includes asking a number of questions about the Afghan governments
ability to function and provide peace and security on its own.
White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel
said the White House is not only looking at the question of how
many troops are necessary to accomplish the American mission
in Afghanistan but also: Do you have a credible Afghan
partner for this process that can provide the security
and the type of services that the Afghan people need?

Secretary Chu to Join Vice President
Biden to Discuss Expanding Green Jobs and Energy Savings for
Middle Class Families
WASHINGTON - On Monday, October 19, at
10:00 AM EDT, Vice President Biden will release the Recovery
through Retrofit Report, which builds on the foundation laid
out in the Recovery Act to expand green job opportunities in
the United States and boost energy savings for middle class Americans
by retrofitting homes for energy efficiency.
At the request of the Vice President, the
White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) led an interagency
working group consisting of eleven Departments and Agencies and
six White House Offices to develop proposals aimed at expanding
green jobs and increasing home energy savings. Members of this
working group, including Energy Secretary Steven Chu, will join
with the Vice President to discuss these proposals as well as
the plans for implementation of the Report's recommendations.
The event will be POOLED for TV cameras
and stills and OPEN for print reporters. An RSVP is required
to participate.

I wanted to remind you about next weekends
Regional Meeting on OCTOBER 24TH at STATE COLLEGE.
THIS IS OUR MOST IMPORTANT EVENT OF THE
YEAR, so I hope you can make it. We are hoping our presense will
remind everyone about the election and fuel additional turnout
for the state ticket.
We would like to extend a special thank
you to some great speakers and to, former Philadelphia City Controller
and current Lieutenant Governor candidate, Jonathan Saidel for
being our special guest.

hope you can all make it to the 11 am canvass which is a main
reason we will be there:
i. At 11 AM, PAYD will be canvassing for
our statewide judicial ticket, District Attorney Candidate Stacy

ii. At 3 PM, we will hold our 2nd annual
