H. Hoyer (MD) released the following statement on the health
care reform discussion draft unveiled today by the chairmen of
the three committees with jurisdiction over health policy in
the U.S. House of Representatives: This draft serves as the discussion point moving forward as we continue working to seek input and ideas from Members throughout our Caucus and on the other side of aisle. With hearings next week and markups to follow, we expect robust discussion and debate true to our democratic process and necessary for building strong consensus on such a critical issue. Americans want and deserve health care reform that contains rising costs and delivers peace of mind that they will have access to affordable, quality health care. With each step we take, we move closer to this goal, and working together we will achieve it this year.

Hello Everyone. As much as I would like to come to you today with fantastic news that all is well in the world, and that peace and prosperity is ours for the taking, I regret to inform you that this is not the case. As most of you are already aware, the Iranian people are currently in a battle for freedom, and liberty. However their fight is not with some foreign intruder, but their very own government. As most of you already are aware I will cut short the back-story, and focus on the present. Friday the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khameni made the announcement that the election between current Hard-Line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and reformer candidate, Mir Hossein Mousavi was in no way "rigged" and again announced Ahmadinejad as President. With this announcement came the warning to protesters that if they do not stop their marches and rallies, there will be consequences for this. IN response, the opposition has announced that Saturday, a massive rally is to occur, encouraging those all over the world to stand-up for liberty, and freedom. I would encourage all of you to help Mr. Mousavi's noble cause. It's easy to sit behind our computers, or preach to our friends that we are agents of freedom, but until we take action these words are meaningless. Now although we cannot directly join the Iranian cause, we can show support while still in the states. There are rallies planned for all over the United States this coming Saturday & Sunday. If you would like more information regarding times and places of said rallies, I would appreciate any members who know this information to post it on the group's page. I thank you all so much for the support for Mir Hossein Mousavi's cause, and the cause of all the Iranians. Below is a link to Mr. Mousavi's page where you can find information in English and Farsi concerning his cause. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Mir-Hossein-Mousavi-/45061919453?ref=ts Thank You So Much | |||
