I know this is a really long message, but
I wanted to provide the movie descriptions.
Thank you!

1.) Bums Paradise (introspective
view of homelessness)
Filmmakers Tomas McCabe and Andrei Rozen
Bums Paradise is a documentary that
depicts the lives of the men and women who lived in the ten-year-old
Albany Landfill community. It follows them through the eviction
and documents them one month after the eviction. The film emphasizes
their concepts of community as well as the amazing art that they
created. Instead of being a documentary about homelessness, Bums
Paradise considers the question: What if the homeless
the indigent, the bums told their own stories? This is
exactly what filmmakers Tomas McCabe and Andrei Rozen set out
to explore with the Albany Landfill residents.
2.) Ghosts of Abu Ghraib (Iraq)
Filmmaker Rory Kennedy
Wielding startlingly candid interviews
with perpetrators, witnesses, and victims, Ghosts of Abu Ghraib
provides an inside look at the abuses that occurred at the Iraqi
prison in the fall of 2003. Award-winning filmmaker Rory Kennedy
explores how, given the right circumstances, typical boys and
girls next door can commit atrocious acts of violence. Kennedy
begins tracing the path to Abu Ghraib with 9/11. Facing a whole
new war on terror, the Bush administration justified intelligence
gathering at any cost. The administration's decision to ignore
the rules of the Geneva Conventions laid the groundwork for the
abuse. The result- heinous acts of torture heretofore associated
only with the world's most repressive dictatorships.
3.) This Divided State (Michael Moore)
Directed by Steven Greenstreet
This Divided State is a raw and riveting
examination of the heated red versus blue rift in
the nation, This Divided State begins in September 2004 with
the presidential election fast approaching and the State of Utah
ready to declare itself Bush Country once again.
However, this complacent state of Republican majority was rocked
when Utah Valley State College announced that liberal filmmaker
Michael Moore would speak on their campus two weeks before the
election. Within 24 hours of the announcement, a media frenzy
descended upon the school as angry community members and religious
leaders shouted protests, pointed fingers, and quoted Mormon
scripture. Some even claimed Moores arrival would bring
the Apocalypse.
4.) La Americana (Mexican immigration)
Directed by Nicholas Bruckman
When nine-year-old Carla suffers a life-threatening
accident, her mother, Carmen, must leave her behind and make
the dangerous and illegal journey from Bolivia to the U.S., where
she hopes to earn enough to save her daughters life. Working
in New York to support Carlas medical needs, Carmen struggles
in vain to legalize her immigration status, and wrestles with
the prospect of never seeing her daughter again. Then, after
six years of separation, Congress proposes amnesty
legislation that could allow Carmen and Carla to be reunited
at last. Filmed across three countries in a captivating cinematic
narrative, La Americana is Carmens story, and the story
of millions of illegal immigrants who make the difficult decision
to leave their families behind to pursue the elusive American
dream. An intimate and heartbreaking story, La Americana shows
how immigration policy affects families on both sides of the
border, putting a human face on this timely and controversial
issue. Winner of multiple awards at film festivals across the
country, La Americana is now being used as the centerpiece for
a nationwide campaign to engage and inspire audiences around
immigrant rights and immigration reform.
5.) The End of America (Bush policies)
Directed by Annie Sundberg and Ricki Stern
From award-winning filmmakers Annie Sundberg
and Ricki Stern comes the provocative and expertly crafted film,
The End of America, based on The New York Times best seller by
the same name. In a stunning indictment of sweeping policy changes
during the Bush years, author Naomi Wolf (The Beauty Myth) makes
a chilling case that American democracy is under threat. With
this galvanizing call to arms based on her recent book, she urges
regular citizens to take back our legacy of freedom and justice.
6.) God Grew Tired of Us (fleeing war in
Sudan, to America)
Directed by Christopher Dillon Quinn
Winner of both the Grand Jury Prize and
the Audience Award at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, God Grew
Tired of Us explores the indomitable spirit of three Lost
Boys from the Sudan who leave their homeland, triumph over
seemingly insurmountable adversities, and move to America. Orphaned
by a tumultuous civil war, John Bul Dau, Daniel Abol Pach, and
Panther Blor were among the 25,000 Lost Boys who
traveled together for five years across the sub-Saharan desert
to reach UNs refugee camps in Kakuma, Kenya. A journeys
end for some, it was only the beginning for John, Daniel, and
Panther, who, along with 3,800 other young survivors, were selected
to resettle in the United States. From the trans-Atlantic flights
that take them to America, to a supermarket visit where they
encounter an endless bounty of food, the cameras observe three
resilient young men in a complex and confusing western world.
In time, John, Daniel, and Panther were able to build active
and fulfilling new lives while remaining deeply committed to
helping their friends and family left behind in Africa.

Rapid Response Action for Monday, 2/15
Thanks to everyone who has volunteered
to help us out with the Rapid Response Team. This will really
help the campaign push our message and our candidate online.
And our online presence will help us drive voters to the polls
and because of that we will win in November!
A few things you can help us with today.
1. If you haven't already invited all your
friends to be fans of our page, please do so. A lot of people
did this on Friday and we got a bump of more than 1000, but we
still have less than half the fans that Marco Rubio does and
we need to change that. Go to: http://www.facebook.com/pages/KENDRICK-MEEK/44575428193?ref=search&sid=75312200.3254187602..1
and click "Suggest to Friends" under the Congressman's
picture.
2. Invite your friends to join this group
so we can grow our team.
3. If you can, get in the habit of going
to the link above and hitting the little "Like" button
below any of the stories/videos/comments that the Congressman
posts. When you "Like" it, it appears in your feed,
getting more people to see our message.
Thanks!
